1° GENERATION
Michele Scognamiglio, Born in 1815, he was one of the first to start a small coral factory in 1857 in Via Purgatorio n° 112 in Torre del Greco.
2° GENERATION
Giovanni Scognamiglio, Born in 1852 continued the business very successfully. He invented a one piece coral bracelet which was patented and won the first prize at the “Paris Expo”.
3° GENERATION
Michele Scognamiglio, Born in 1875, he was a physician and also President of the Company helped by his old and very expert father.
4° GENERATION
Giovanni Scognamiglio, Born in 1905, received from the Public Authorities the honorary title of Knight of Labour. He started to run the family business in 1930. One of the most competent personalities in the field.
5° GENERATION
Dott. Michele Scognamiglio, Born in 1939, graduated in Economy. Married teacher and designer Mrs Marisa Scognamiglio. He is President of M+M Scognamiglio srl. He has modernized the business and the marketing procedures. He acquired two prestigious properties in New York and Tokyo-Ginza to be used as branches and showrooms of M+M Scognamiglio srl.
6° GENERATION
Giovanni Scognamiglio – Lawyer, Born in 1970. He handles the legal side of the Company.
Dott. Amedeo Scognamiglio, Amedeo Scognamiglio, taught himself the ancient art of cameo and coral carving when he was only 16 years old and it still remains his most passionate hobby. Graduated in Law at Napoli's Universita' Federico II, Amedeo moved to New York in 1997 to successfully run the family business.
Soon, Amedeo's cameo designs were worn by many celebreties such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Ivana Trump, being featured by the most influential fashion and lifestyle magazines (Vogue, Departures, New York Magazine, Town&Country, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Elle, MarieClaire, W, Harper's Bazaar, among many others). The M+M Scognamiglio collections designed by Amedeo soon landed at the best boutiques and specialty stores in U.S. such as Neiman Marcus, Sak's Fifth Avenue, Louis Boston.
In 2002 Amedeo launched the ITALYCAMEO by M+M SCOGNAMIGLIO Show on national TV network Home Shopping Network ("HSN").
In January 2005 Amedeo is the proud recipient of the prestigious Rising Star Award for Fine Jewelry by the Fashion Group International, and is nominated "2005 Designer of the Year " by the JCK Magazine.
Cristiano Scognamiglio, Born in 1978. Student at Naples University of Law. He also follows the family business in the Tokyo-Ginza Showroom with the introduction of coral jewels of various styles more suitable to the young and middle aged ladies.
In 2007 the Scognamiglio Family celebrated the 150° ANNIVERSARY of the beginning of its business. The long and uninterrupted activity is the best message that the main target of all the generations has always been to make jewels which were in the same time “Portable Art”. In fact the international prizes, the original designs by Marisa Scognamiglio and the numerous researches, starting from the antique Egypt, Greece, Rome, Renaissance on the sculpturing Art of the Cameos and coral are the demonstration that this Company intends to transmit to this new millennium, the combination of ART, CULTURE AND JEWELS.
